A Taste for Success

WE SET OUR STANDARDS HIGH TO MEASURE OUR PERFORMANCE AND THAT OF OUR STUDENTS IN OUR PROGRAMME AND IN OUR RESTAURANT.

The Chefs' House is a real-life learning lab that can compete with Toronto's restaurants. Our students appreciate the ‘hands-on' experience they are given to make managerial decisions in the roles they are assigned: bar manager, floor manager, maitre d'. The quality of our students' experience is our measure of success for this practice. Our students claim that trying on the various roles is “their favorite part”.

The Chefs' House is a student-operated restaurant. Our success is determined by the success of our students. Our focus is to give them the best real-life experience and to facilitate their reach for a professional, high standard of fast-paced a la carte cooking. The open concept kitchen allows our students to engage with the customer in conversation about food, and it is our hope that this will encourage in the student Chef, pride in his work  and the confidence to deliver. When the Chef follows the plate that he has prepared to the patron's table, and actually sees praise in the customer's response, he is gratified. And so are we.
